Saturday Adventures

Oh my goodness, I love rocks! I have this really great boyfriend that loves to take me rock climbing and luckily, we have all of these great spots so close to town. I had Saturday off so of course we had to take advantage of that freedom and find some new climb to conquer. We packed up all of our gear, filled up the gas tank, and hit the road. The two of us drove just about a half hour away to Prophecy Wall for a multi-pitch sport climb (my first ever). When I reached the very top of the route, I felt such a rush from being so high up. It was exhilarating and I look forward to many more similar experiences.

  2. Eunice, music from rocks...... you can take your igneous rocks or leave 'em. Thats a great picture of you and Jean Claude. Does he like Paul Simon? You turned out to be the Joan Muir of the family. Some day we will have to hike cuz they don't make rope to hold the likes of me. Please be safe on your expeditions!!! Is this the same girl who would cry from the top of the slide? Love ya more....

  3. "I relate primarily to quartz" just for the record :) Lets go to Yosemite and do lots of fun stuff! I think we should. Ropes are stronger than you think Pop, you don't get off that easy. Love you!

  4. "Why those are Howard's! What on earth are you doing with Howard Bannister's rocks."
One of these years you'll have to get to Yosemite. Then you can buy a "Go climb a rock tee-shirt.
You and Vaughan look like you're having a great time. I can hardly believe you are so fearless. I am scared of everything. Rocks, Heights, monsters. All of it! You will have to do all of your climbing with your Dad I'm afraid.
Well, Joanie, keep climbing, have fun, and most of all, be careful.
We miss you, love you, and want you to come home so we can spend a weekend watching, memorizing and quoting, "What's Up, Doc?"

  6. I knew there would be a dozen rock quotes from "What's up Doc?" It was too tempting. Holly I see the rocks you love and..."you're going to need an awful big glass of water to get those down." See! I couldn't resist either.
You look like you are having such a fun time with the outdoors and Vaughan. I love being outside too but right now that really just means the front porch or my backyard. I have some rocks on the front of my house...maybe I should try to climb those. But what would the neighbors think! Be careful little Holly but have a great time!

  8. Dang girl, it looks scary to me. But I hate heights. Maybe it has something to do with my old age lol.
